Information You Submit
Text entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, goes to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that query. A direct message to us contains only the details you decide to send, and we use those details to answer the message.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps us maintain the service and see which resources are useful. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic traffic analysis and, when present, advertising measurement.
How We Use Data
Limited visitor data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and editorial improvement. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to government portals, city and county offices, North Carolina agencies, library collections, and outside search services. Information submitted after leaving our pages is controlled by the destination's privacy policy. Sponsored search results are supplied by an outside company and follow that provider's data rules.
Parties That Process Data
Hosting and support vendors may process logs for us. Analytics or advertising services may receive the automatically collected data described above. Data may also be disclosed in response to valid legal process. We do not otherwise distribute visitor information.
Data Security and Retention
An encrypted connection serves the site, and logs are kept only as long as operational needs require. Because visitors do not create accounts, we hold no account password or user profile for an intruder to obtain here.
Visitors Under 18
These resources are intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from a person under 18. Tell us if a minor sent personal information so that we can remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data depend on where a visitor lives. North Carolina uses sector-specific privacy protections rather than one broad consumer deletion statute. Session Law 2025-79 protects certain identifying information about nonprofit members, volunteers, and donors, but it is not a general right to erase public records. We can search our mailbox and available server logs for a request sent through the Contact page. Records held by High Point, a county office, a court, or North Carolina remain under the custodian's control.
